The Anniversary is Over Well, I think our part in the Linden Lab Third Anniversary Celebration was a success.
Amalthea Blanc ended up in charge of large chunks of two sims in which to orchestrate the Art Expo. She had envisioned an area displaying art reflecting a number of Dali works but the limitations of only having a partial sim worked against her. However, hundreds of artists and sculptors were able to show their work through her efforts from those relatively new to Second Life to some of the biggest "names" in SL.
With the new sign-up policies that SL has, there was considerable picketing, demonstrations, and griefing in the Anniversary area which ended up closing down the grid (SL) just as Philip Linden and Robin Linden were to give their talks. Not only were the talks delayed but they were not enjoyed but they were disrupted to the degree that they didn't fully come about.
Thankfully, outside of the grid crash, the griefing did not spill into Dreams. We celebrated at Dreams with our build in the Events area:
classes:
discussions:
fireworks:
and an all day Open House at Brigadoon for the general public, Brigadoon members, and the Brigadoon Explorers (the Asperger Syndrome/Autism group that shares Dreams).
The group rallied wonderfully and added so much to both the Art Expo and the work done on Dreams. It was definitely a success.
Thank you, Dream Travelers, ShockProof, and Brigadoon Explorers for what your effort, imagination, and willingness to chip in!! You are the best!
