The Anniversary is Over

Well, I think our part in the Linden Lab Third Anniversary Celebration was a success.
Amalthea Blanc ended up in charge of large chunks of two sims in which to orchestrate the Art Expo. She had envisioned an area displaying art reflecting a number of Dali works but the limitations of only having a partial sim worked against her. However, hundreds of artists and sculptors were able to show their work through her efforts from those relatively new to Second Life to some of the biggest "names" in SL.
With the new sign-up policies that SL has, there was considerable picketing, demonstrations, and griefing in the Anniversary area which ended up closing down the grid (SL) just as Philip Linden and Robin Linden were to give their talks. Not only were the talks delayed but they were not enjoyed but they were disrupted to the degree that they didn't fully come about.
Thankfully, outside of the grid crash, the griefing did not spill into Dreams. We celebrated at Dreams with our build in the Events area:
classes:
discussions:
fireworks:
and an all day Open House at Brigadoon for the general public, Brigadoon members, and the Brigadoon Explorers (the Asperger Syndrome/Autism group that shares Dreams).
The group rallied wonderfully and added so much to both the Art Expo and the work done on Dreams. It was definitely a success.
Thank you, Dream Travelers, ShockProof, and Brigadoon Explorers for what your effort, imagination, and willingness to chip in!! You are the best!

LL Anniversary

The DREAMS Celebration of LINDEN LAB's Third Anniversary from June 21-25, 2006.

We have been asked to join in with the Linden Lab's Third Anniversary Extravaganza.

In that effort, we are doing 3 things:
1. Amalthea Blanc is organizing the Art Expo.
She needs material and help. http://history.secondserver.net/index.php/Amalthea_Blanc

2. We will have some sort of activity representing Dreams and ShockProof.. probably on June 22.

3. We are building a community project in the Events Area of Dreams.

What we need from you NOW:

Pictures of you and others on Dreams and ShockProof whether at Lane, Manua, Luo, or Dreams.
Please send them to The Sojourner.
They will be used for the big bed quilt being made by minxeh Volos or the pictoral history being
made by The Sojourner.

What we need from you in the near future:

1. We are asking that each member create an object that reminds them of Dreams/ShockProof
to add to the object sculpture that will spill out of the closet into the bedroom of this giant
building project. (up to 20 prims)

2. We will have a good number of 10x10 plots that will have photos of you and Dreams on them
and objects made by you. This will be on a first come, first served basis... what you put down,
you can set for sale. (up to 20 prims)

Getting Closer to Live!

As the site builds up with more and more content, we are growing ever closer to the final live date.
There are a few pages that still need content adding:
- Instructor Program
- Stroke Info
- BrainTalk
- Contact Us
- FAQ

Also, the Events and Blogs pages will be done as soon as possible, but will take a bit longer than the other areas of the site due to complexity and time constraints.
